| Police find weapons, drugs during vehicle search |
FAIRFIELD -4-27-13- A Fairfield police officer who noticed a man acting suspiciously Friday led to arrests in connection to weapons and drugs.
A member of the Special Operations Team saw something odd about a man at the 7-Eleven store on the 200 block of Tabor Avenue and approached him. According to Sgt. Josh Jacobsen, two men in the vehicle fled the lot before contact was made.

| 2 jailed after armed parolee scuffles with officer |
FAIRFIELD - 4-13-13- Fairfield Police Officer Amanda Graham had a close call Thursday shortly before midnight. She made a routing traffic stop on North Texas Street for a car that had an alleged equipment violation.
The two people in the car, the driver, Jessica Pantoja, and her companion, Edgar Torres, both 26, sat in the car while Graham asked them questions.

FAIRFIELD — Members of the Fairfield Police Officers Association are bolstering the budget of the Matt Garcia Youth Center/Police Activities League by more than $100,000.
The donation comes during tough economic times and with the looming specter of budget cuts.

Members of the Fairfield Police Officers Association along with other local police associations and local businesses joined together to raise money for the Officer Jim Capoot Family Trust. Police Officers Jimmie Williams and Cade Beckwith designed, printed and sold t-shirts to raise money for Officer Capoot’s family.

FAIRFIELD– Four Fairfield police officers on Sept. 21 waded through waist-high ditch water, reached a man who had hanged himself from a tree in a suicide attempt, got him down and performed CPR.
The 41-year-old man had turned blue and had no pulse. The officers saved his life.

FAIRFIELD - 10-28-11 — He was shot at only once and in the past 30 years he never had to fire his gun at anybody. This week, after three decades of wearing a badge, Sgt. Mike Mitchell of the Fairfield Police Department retired.
Getting shot at was so long ago that Mitchell can’t remember precisely when it occurred.
